Construction News – Spring 2023

Dear Reader

Welcome to the Spring edition of our Construction News publication which contains a roundup of news from across our construction sectors: automotive, commercial, education, healthcare and residential. I hope you find this edition of interest and would be delighted to help with any enquiries you may have.

Well, with Spring in the air, it is a welcomed change of season following a cold winter. As we all know, the winter months make things much more challenging on construction sites. However, now with a positive change in the weather, the pace of our lives in construction seems more buoyant and confident about the outlook of our industry.

It’s been a busy start of the year for our team as Horizon Construction marks its 24th Anniversary. We have been pleased to get recently awarded projects in commercial and residential sectors quickly and smoothly underway with construction works on site. We have also been awarded new projects in the automotive and education sectors, so are looking forward to getting these underway in the same way.

Determining confidence in a main contractor to meet expectations for any new project can sometimes be a high-risk element for a developer, especially during pre-tender/per-contract negotiations. Our team works hard at every level to instil confidence throughout the construction process, from start to finish, through high standards of service. Our portfolio of current and past projects, and the relationships we have built with developers, is a testament to the commitment to our values and our approach to ‘a better view of construction’.

Along with our established repeat clients, we are pleased to have recently started several contracts for new clients too. New commercial sector projects in Haverhill (Suffolk) and Tendring (Essex) have highlighted our expertise in industrial units. In contrast, our versatility in the sector is demonstrated with modern, high-specification offices at Ardleigh (Essex) and a mixed-used business centre in Great Dunmow (Essex). We are also undertaking our largest-ever schemes in both residential and healthcare sectors for new clients, which are leaders in their own sectors.

Therefore, as usual, there is plenty to discover in the contents of our publication, including additional news on our website and recruitment opportunities.

We look forward to working with all our clients, professionals and suppliers throughout 2023.

Kind regards

Phil Holding
