Grange Academy, Bedford

The new two-storey teaching block at Grange Academy in Bedford provides a welcomed addition to a special needs school for pupils aged five to 16. Funding was secured by Ingleton Wood through the Government’s Condition Improvement Fund. It replaced ten inadequate and dilapidated mobile classrooms.

Construction works involved the removal of old mobile buildings, new utility and drainage systems, and environmentally considered materials and heating systems. Classrooms and associated facilities included the latest equipment to support the developmental needs of the pupils. All works were progressed within a live school environment and were completed on schedule and within budget.

The opening of the new, state-of-the-art teaching block was celebrated by the school’s staff, families and VIP guests. The long-term performance of the building will benefit hundreds of pupils for years to come.
