The construction of a new detached teaching block at St Thomas More Catholic School in Wood Green, London. The project involved creating four lecture rooms, administration and welfare spaces, WCs and a large plant room. External works included landscaping and installation of a canopied area. All works were controlled in and around a live school environment.
The interesting design utilised a steel sub-structure which was fixed to steel screw anchor piles and topped by a timber frame. The structure has been designed in readiness for a future second-floor extension to provide further teaching facilities.
