On 20 December, Horizon Construction is delighted to support St Helena Hospice in Colchester by sponsoring a full day at their Singlepoint office.
The vital services of the charity are ever so more important this year due to the pandemic and lack of resources for people to reach out to for support. Their Singlepoint office is a team of call handlers and nurses who provide advice and support to patients, families and health and social care professionals over the phone – 24 hours, 7 days a week – and they never transfer any calls to voicemail over the Christmas period.
Unfortunately, due to the challenges and impact of the pandemic, traditional fundraising activities have affected all charities. St Helena Hospice launched a festive campaign to raise critical funds to help keep people connected with their services during this time of year. Last year, over the festive fortnight, they took 1,160 calls from people who needed them at a difficult time. The Singlepoint team is vital in helping to ensure their patients can remain at home where they want to be at Christmas and spending time with their loved ones, especially if they are facing their last Christmas together.
St Helena Hospice is a charity close to our hearts and we hope by helping to cover the cost of 24 hours on 20 December at the Singlepoint office, phone lines can remain open.
