Following the outbreak of COVID-19 in the UK and the associated Government guidance, a decision was made to protect all our employees, contractors and members of the public by temporarily closing our construction sites and offices. Since then, we have been continuously evaluating the industry and Government guidance as the pandemic has developed. The health, safety and wellbeing of our staff are our priority and determining when to return to construction operations has been carefully considered. We are committed to providing the safest possible working environment for everyone involved at all times.
The Government has confirmed that construction sites can continue to operate. It has also confirmed that enhanced Site Operating Procedures, which are aligned with Public Health England’s guidance on COVID-19, must be implemented in the workplace.
We have always been proud of our Site Operating Procedures which set a very high standard and we have been working hard to develop them further to incorporate the latest industry guidance for a safe and continuous return to operations.
Therefore, from Monday 4 May 2020 we will be undertaking a phased return to construction operations and the reopening of our construction sites, as well as the commencement of new contracts – where agreement has been made with each client. All parties will be operating under the strict controls of our COVID-19 Site Operating Procedures.
This decision has also been enabled by the cooperation of key suppliers and contractors, which includes their commitment to meet and exceed the welfare instructions and recommendations in our comprehensive procedures.
Thank you to everyone involved.
Keep staying well and safe.
