A complicated conversion and refurbishment project to link two sections of a hospital for severe learning difficulties. The project included providing a centralised kitchen, servery areas, reception and activity centre. The hospital remained opened and fully occupied at all times, creating very stringent access and egress arrangements. The construction had to match the existing environment.
